Financial Reporting Manager

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Reporting Manager to lead financial reporting function across our client’s upstream oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, statutory reporting requirements, and upstream oil and gas accounting, with proven experience in financial reporting, audit coordination, and joint venture reporting. Key responsibilities include: * Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely statutory and management financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements. * Coordinate external audits, ensure tax and statutory compliance, and maintain effective financial reporting controls and processes. * Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis to facilitate business planning and decision-making. * Oversee joint venture and partner financial reporting, including cost recovery, cash calls, billings, and joint interest reconciliations. * Collaborate with finance, tax, treasury, commercial, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting across upstream operations. * Supervise and develop the financial reporting team while driving process improvements and optimising ERP and financial reporting systems. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. * Must be a chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA). * Minimum of 12 years’ progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing, with at least 5 years in the oil and gas industry or a related sector. * Strong knowledge of IFRS, upstream oil and gas accounting, Nigerian tax laws, statutory reporting, and joint venture accounting. * Experience with Oracle, Sun Systems, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. * Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, team leadership, and financial reporting process improvement.
