Category Specialist – Drilling, Completions & Subsurface

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Category Specialist – Drilling, Completions & Subsurface (DCS) to support sourcing, contracting, procurement, and supplier management activities across upstream oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate must have relevant upstream industry experience, strong procurement knowledge, and a commitment to cost optimisation, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include: * Support category strategy development and implementation for drilling, completions, and subsurface goods and services. * Identify, evaluate, and qualify local and international suppliers, while supporting contract negotiations and management. * Conduct market research, cost benchmarking, and spend analysis to optimise procurement decisions. * Collaborate with engineering and operations teams, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with HSE standards and contractual obligations. * Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and Nigerian Content requirements, maintain procurement records, support budget planning, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Geoscience, Petrophysics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. * Minimum of 3 years’ upstream oil and gas experience, specifically in drilling, completions, or subsurface operations. * Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Engineering Management is an added advantage . * Professional certifications such as CIPS, APICS/CPIM, or PMI. * Knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, and contract negotiation. * Familiarity with ERP procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle. * Understanding of cost engineering, procurement governance, and Nigerian Content compliance. * Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
